Description

The Livi CS opening sensor (hereafter referred to as the sensor) is designed to control the opening and closing of structural elements such as doors, windows, shutters, hatches and gates.

The sensor switches to the alarm mode when the structural element is open:

The indicator (3) blinks red once,
The sensor sends an alert to the Livi Smart Hub (hereafter referred to as the hub).

The sensor consists of a magnetically operated switch (1) and a control element - a magnet (2). An external wired reed switch can be connected (OR circuit).

Binding to the hub

The sensor must be unpacked and allowed to reach room temperature for at least two hours before handling if it was transported or stored at low temperatures.

Only the owner of the site can bind the sensor to the hub. Make sure that the site guard is disabled and the hub is online.

Follow these steps to bind the sensor to the hub:

1. Pull the protective film out of the battery compartment.

The sensor indicator will start blinking blue once the sensor is switched to the binding mode.

2. In the Livicom app, open the "Devices" screen. In the upper right corner of the screen tap "+" and select "Add Device".

The system compiles a list of radio devices available for binding within the range of the hub radio channel.

3. Select the sensor from the list and check that its name and serial number in the app match the data on the sensor enclosure.

4. Tap CONTINUE and follow on-screen instructions in the app to bind the sensor to the hub.

The sensor indicator will blink green 5 times after successful binding.

You should choose whether the sensor will be installed on the front door of the site when binding the opening sensor to the hub.

Select NO if you do not use a Livi RFID control panel to enable / disable the guard of the site.

Select YES if you are going to use a Livi RFID control panel to enable / disable the guard of the site AND you are going to install the sensor on the front door of the site.

The answer YES impacts the way the full guard of the site will be enabled and disabled if the user uses the Livi RFID control panel. As the Livi RFID is usually installed inside the guarded site, users need some time to exit the site before the full guard will be enabled and to enter the site before the alarm will be triggered - the delay for entry / exit.

If the front door of the site is protected with a Livi CS opening sensor, then:

the full guard will be enabled immediately after the user shuts the front door (even if the delay for exit is not over);
the delay for entry countdown will start at the moment the user opens the front door.

The sensor switches to the binding mode only for 60 seconds. If you have not bound it to the hub within this period, remove the battery from the sensor for 30 seconds, and reinstall it (observing polarity). The sensor will switch to binding mode again.

Removing or replacing the battery

Press one of the latches on the short side of the enclosure using a flat-blade screwdriver.
Pull the lid up while pressing the latch.

3. Remove the battery from the sensor for 30 seconds and reinstall it (observing polarity).

4. Close the sensor enclosure.

Choosing a location for the sensor

Mount the magnetically operated switch (1) to the fixed part of a structural element (e.g. a door frame), and then mount the magnet (2) to the moving part of the structural element (e.g. a door leaf or a window sash). The sensor can be mounted vertically or horizontally.

DO NOT install the sensor outdoors, in places with high humidity, or at temperatures exceeding the operating temperature range (see "Specifications" table).

Evaluating signal strength

Check the quality of the connection between the sensor and the hub at the intended location of the sensor.

There are two ways to evaluate the signal strength:

In the Livicom app, on the sensor settings screen.
With the help of the LED indication on the sensor. Double-click on the tamper button and look at the sensor indicator. Interpret the indication using the table below.

Good signal	The indicator blinks green 3 times
Average signal	The indicator blinks green 2 times
Poor signal	The indicator blinks green once
No connection	The indicator blinks red 4 times

Connecting an external wired reed switch

An external wired reed switch can be connected to the sensor (OR circuit).

Follow these steps to connect the reed switch:

Open the enclosure of the magnetically operated switch (if it has been closed).
Connect the reed switch wires to the sensor terminals (9) as shown on the connection diagram.
Break one of the plugs (6) in the sensor enclosure to make a hole for the reed switch wire.

Attention

The internal opening sensor becomes inactive once an external wired reed switch is connected. The magnet (2) must be removed and kept away from the magnetically operated switch (1)

Sensor installation

1. Open the enclosure of the magnetically operated switch (1): press one of the latches (5) on the short side of the enclosure using a flat-blade screwdriver and then pull the lid up while pressing the latch.
2. Fasten the base of the sensor enclosure at the selected location using a supplied mounting kit.
3. Close the magnetically operated switch enclosure.

4. Similarly open the enclosure of the magnet and fasten the base of the magnet (2) to the moving part of the structural element.
5. Place the center of the magnet near to the mark (4) on the magnetically operated switch.
6. Close the magnet enclosure.

Checking the sensor operation

Check the operation of the sensor after its installation. Make sure that the LED indication matches the information in the "LED indication" table below when you open and close the structural element (door or window).

Enable full guard of the site through the Livicom app. Make sure that you see an alarm alert in the app when you open the guarded structural element.

If you see an incorrect indication or do not receive the alert, then check:

whether the center of the magnet is placed near to the mark (4) on the magnetically operated switch;
whether the magnet comes near the magnetically operated switch (up to 10 mm) when you open and close the structural element (door or window).

Contact technical support (mail to: support@livicom.ru) if the magnet is placed correctly and you still observe an incorrect indication or do not receive the alerts.

Sensor plate in the Livicom app

Tap on the Devices button in the Livicom app. The sensor plate appears in the list on the Devices screen after the sensor has been bound to the hub.

The sensor plate displays:

The name of the sensor.
Current state of the sensor (Open / Closed)
Sensor icon for quick visual identification.

When the sensor detects the vibration, you will see on the sensor settings screen (if the guard is enabled):

The state of the sensor will change to Alarm! Intrusion detected,
Sensor icon will turn red.

Tap on the sensor plate to open the sensor settings screen.

The sensor settings screen displays:

Sensor description:
- name;
- appearance;
- type and serial number;
- current state:
  - Closed,
  - Open (if the guard is disabled),
  - Alarm! Closed (if the guard is enabled).
Operational parameters:
- signal strength;
- battery status;
- enclosure status;
Operational settings:
- delay for entry / exit;
- night guard;
- installed on the front door.
Group. Tap on the group name to move the sensor to another group.

When the sensor detects an intrusion into the guarded site, you will see on the sensor settings screen:

The state of the sensor will change to Alarm! Intrusion detected.

Renaming the sensor

Only the owner of the site can rename the sensor. Make sure that the site guard is disabled and the hub is online before renaming.

In the upper right corner of the settings screen tap on three dots ("Menu" button).
Select Rename in the menu.
Enter a new name and save it.

Operational parameters

Radio signal strength between the sensor and the hub (no connection / poor / average / good):

If there is no connection with the hub, check whether the hub is turned on. If the hub is off, turn the hub on and again check the signal strength on the sensor settings screen. Then check whether there are any objects obstructing radio signal (for example, metal objects or mirrors) between the hub and the sensor. Change the sensor installation location so that radio signal could pass between devices without obstructions.

Check whether the sensor is installed within radio signal range of the hub. If the sensor is installed too far from the hub, move it to a new place where connection between the sensor and the hub will be restored.

Battery status (OK / low battery).

If the battery runs out, you will receive the push notification. The notification will also be displayed in the event log in the app and on the sensor settings screen. Follow instructions to replace the battery.

Enclosure status (open / closed).

Operational settings for guarding sensors

Only the owner of the site can change settings for the sensor. Make sure that the site guard is disabled and the hub is online.

Delay for entry / exit - slide the switch to the right if the sensor is mounted in the entrance area of the site AND the site guard is controlled by the Livi RFID security control panel.

Night guard - slide the switch to the right if the sensor should be switched to the guarding mode when the night guard is enabled.

Installed on the front door - move the switcher to the left if you do not use a Livi RFID control panel to enable / disable the guard of the site (the switcher will turn grey). Move the switcher to the right if you use a Livi RFID control panel to enable / disable the guard of the site AND the Livi CS opening sensor is installed on the front door of the site (the switcher will turn green). The setting "Installed on the front door" impacts the way the delay for entry / exit will be counted. If the front door of the site is protected with the Livi CS opening sensor, then:
- the full guard will be enabled immediately after the user shuts the front door (even if the delay for exit is not over),
- the delay for entry countdown will start at the moment the user opens the front door.

Maintenance

Keep the sensor free of dust and dirt. Replace the battery as soon as possible after you receive a low battery notification in the Livicom app.

Attention

Do not wipe the sensor with substances containing alcohol, acetone, gasoline and other active solvents

Deleting the sensor (unbinding from the hub)

Only the owner of the site can unbind the sensor from the hub. Make sure that the site guard is disabled and the hub is online before deleting the sensor.

There are two ways to unbind the sensor from the hub:

In the Livicom app, using the menu on the sensor settings screen.
Using the tamper (8). If you need to forcefully delete the sensor, remove the battery from the sensor for 30 seconds, then press the tamper button and while holding it, reinstall the battery, observing polarity. Release the tamper button and quickly click on it until the sensor indicator starts blinking blue.

Warranty

The manufacturer LLC "NPP Stels" guarantees that the sensor meets AGNS.421453.001 TU technical requirements, provided that the consumer complies with the conditions of transportation, storage, installation and operation.

The warranty period is 5 years from the manufacturing date. The warranty does not apply to batteries.

The warranty does not cover the following cases:

Non-compliance with the intended operating conditions for the sensor;
Mechanical damage to the sensor;
Repairs to the sensor by a third party (a person or a company other than the Manufacturer).
